Travelling is one of the best things you can do as a couple. Whether you are newly together or have been together for many years, going away gives you the chance to bond and spend quality time together, uninterrupted. It’s a rare opportunity to step outside your daily routine and do something you both love or something different for the two of you.
In the world of travel, there are so many different types of holidays that you can go on. The obvious ones that spring to mind are beach breaks and city breaks. Slightly different ideas could include going on a cruise or a walking holiday – walking holidays give you plenty of time to catch up, in a natural setting!
We have put together a quick guide on three different types of holidays a couple could go on.
Walking holiday
If you’re a couple that likes to get active, whilst spending time in nature, a walking holiday will be perfect for you. A walking holiday gives you the chance to spend many hours outdoors, exploring, seeing new scenery and unforgettable walking routes. It takes you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – and best of all, you spend far less time looking at screens when you’re out exploring. You could do a coastal walking route, one around a popular city or something in the countryside (it’s down to your preference).
Cruise Holiday
Cruising offers you a unique way to travel – combining the excitement of exploring multiple destinations with the ease of having everything you need in one place. You get to wake up in a new country each day without the stress of packing, unpacking, or navigating transport. The ships have it all, from luxury restaurants and world-class entertainment to spa treatments and sun-soaked decks. As a couple going away, you’ll have a lovely romantic break.
City Break
City breaks are something a lot of people do, and it’s no surprise when you consider how much fun they are. When you’re away, you get to discover new cultures, try different types of food, meet new people, and explore exciting attractions – all of which keep you busy from morning until night. Whether you’re ticking off famous landmarks, browsing local boutiques, or getting lost in charming side streets, there’s always something to see or do.
That said, city breaks don’t usually come with much downtime, so we recommend booking a hotel with a spa or pool. This gives you a quiet, relaxing space to recharge when you need a breather from the hustle and bustle.
There are so many different types of holidays that a couple can go on. No matter the one you pick, we are sure you are going to have a great time.
